The Library

Mission Statement

The goals of the Shoreline Community Middle School Library are many fold.  We make available educational and recreational resources that are appropriate in content and reading complexity to the diverse needs of the school population.  We actively promote literacy by fostering a love of books and of learning.  We teach the necessary information technology and literacy skills to locate and decode print or non-print resources.  Above all we provide for a safe learning setting that is inviting, conducive to learning and or relaxing and a place where students can learn and share ideas.

Hours

The library is open during school hours from 8:35- 2:50 p.m. Monday thru Friday.  The library is also open until 3:15 p.m. everyday (except for Wednesday) for book circulation and quiet reading.

Expectations in the Library

  • Surf safely and courteously.
  • Tidy your area before you leave.
  • Be respectful to library staff.
  • Turn it off and read a book!

Acceptable Computer Use Policy

  • Our computers are for research and project work. Anyone who needs to
    do work for a project for class takes priority over anyone else.
  • Email is not allowed.
  • Chatlines and instant messaging are not allowed.
  • No games allowed.

Borrowing Period

Fiction and Non-Fiction Books and Audio Books……14 days

Magazines………………………………………      …………………7 days

Shoreline’s Library Catalogue

Students can access Destiny Quest Shoreline’s library catalogue from any computer, including home computers.  Students can search for books in our library and/or sign out any of our ebooks.  Please see Ms. Spies for more information about Shoreline’s ebook shelf.
