History

Shoreline, like many middle schools in the Greater Victoria School District, began its life as a junior high school.  It was a busy place in those days!   Opening in 1968, we have a number of alumni who continue to visit us to relive old times, walk the halls and remember the fun they had.

In 1980, Shoreline became a community school, meaning that we began offering community education classes in the form of office skills, typing and cooking classes.  We continue to be one of the few original community schools operating in the province.

By 2001, Shoreline had reconfigured to become the school it is now, a dual-track middle school serving students in grades six through eight.

Shoreline has a proud history.  It is the kind of school that stays with people long after they have left.  We are so fortunate to be the newest page in the Shoreline history book.
